Catch the Dream Welcome To OhMyCats Cattery

Welcome to our home and feline family on the Internet. I am Pat Harbert and together with my husband, Jim Harbert, we have the perfect life with our kitties and other family members.

We have always loved animals, and felt our family was not complete without our pets. When our children grew up and moved away to start their own lives and family, (To date, Ten grandchildren and four and one half great grandchildren) we became more interested in increasing our feline family.

We acquired our first Bengal, when our beloved blue rescue male joined the Rainbow Bridge. We had never seen or heard of a Bengal, and our meeting was pure chance. A neighbor or ours advertised her at age 3 months. She had been raising Manx and this baby came to her in a trade. It was love at first sight. We picked her for beauty and gentleness, not realizing we had just caught the circus ring! When we located a male for Civie Cat, we were introduced to TIBCS, and again by chance our education continued. Ocielot, a charcoal spotted male, from Anita Lawless and was our foundation male. Later we added Mon Cher . These two created our best friend, and loyal companion known as CH Abben Buddy Love. (Best Seal Mink Marble in the SC Region, 1998-99). He is the Peacekeeper with our cats, has worked as a Therapy Cat, and still shows in Alter Class once a year. In 2007 he received two finals at his annual outing. Buddy Love showed in Alter Class until he was 12 years old. In 2007 he received two finals at his annual outing. In 2008 he was 9th best Alter at the annual On Safari. Buddy Love set the goals we strive for at OhMy:

A short time after we acquired the Bengals, another breed, the Abyssinian came into our life. A friend who had purchased one of our kittens told us about some Abys that were being housed in a small chicken coup. They were neglected, undernourished, and in much need of love and attention. This began our life with the Abyssinians. Pywakit and Serendipity proved to have the excellent traits of their breed. It is apparent from their affectionate personalities and regal stance they know they are from Royalty. When they wrap their arms around your neck and kiss you on the neck or cheeks, give up and take it while you have the chance. If you try to have quality time on your terms, you may just get a haughty stare in return. Don?t try to hold one if it wants down, it can turn 360 degrees inside its skin before you can blink.

People have asked us why we have two breeds, and our reply is always that we love them both so much we couldn?t chose, so we just kept them both. The Bengal is always your best friend and confidant with no limits to their loyalty, while the Abyssinian, is always there to remind you that you're a mere human in the presence of royalty, a very humbling experience. Our Cattery is registered both CFA and TICA. Our Abyssinians include Regional Winning Supreme Grand Champions.

Which do I like the best? Bengals or Abys? Whoever I am holding at the moment!

Please take some time and visit our feline family. You will begin to understand what it is like to live with both loyalty and royalty. Catch the wonderful dream of our feline family!
